Cross of our Lord

I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

‘But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. ‘

Galatians 6:14 NKJV

But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/gal.6.14.NKJV

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name!

The subject verse from the Paul’s epistle to the Galatians, brings before us the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul would not want to boast except in the cross of the Lord Jesus. The cross signifies the atoning death of our Lord for the whole mankind. The death of Lord Jesus on the cross became a hurdle for many; as they could not believe that their Messiah died in such a shameful way. For the death on cross is considered to be a great shame.

By Jesus, the world is crucified to us …

As Paul and many of those who understood the work of Christ on the cross, boasted of the cross. Surely, the torture, pain and death of our Lord on the cross is what we could ever boast of. Paul emphatically declares that by Jesus Christ the world is crucified to him, and he to the world. In the same way, those who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord also have the world crucified to them, and they to the world. Even more, Paul declares that it is not he who live, but it is the Christ who lives in him. And also the life that he is living is by faith in the Son of God who sacrificed Himself for him.

‘I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. ‘

Galatians 2:20 NKJV

Therefore, let us also live our lives like the Apostle Paul, crucifying the world to him, and he to the world. Blessed be the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. And let our lives glorify the God, our Holy Father who gave His Begotten Son for us. In Jesus matchless name be blessed. Amen.
