A Wise Son
A wise son hears his father’s instruction.
A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.
Exalted be our God, the most high!
Greetings and warm wishes in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Indeed brethren, our Holy Scriptures are a great source of knowledge and wisdom; not only to the believers, but to all. There are many countries whose constitution is based on the Holy Bible. Although, it is written by over forty different people, God, the Holy Spirit is the author of the Holy Bible.
Brings Joy to their Parents
As the subject verse from the Book of Proverbs says, a wise son listens to his father and abides to his instruction. He would never be offended by His Father’s discipline but would acknowledge his father as his source of wisdom. Indeed, every parent in this world would want his child to be filled with great wisdom. Every believer would have asked God to bless them a healthy and wise child. And those who already have children would ask God for great wisdom and knowledge for their children. But why would anybody want their children to be wise? Because … they bring great joy to their parents. And the hope that they instill makes their parents glad. The hope that they would be successful in their endeavours bring immense joy. The Bible according to the following verse says:
‘A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother. ‘Proverbs 15:20
On the other hand, those who are mockers of their parents would also be mockers of people. Discipline or rebuke would not change their behavior or attitude towards others. They only reap hatred because of their troublesome attitude.
Finally brethren, all this is not to judge anybody. This is for us to come to the rescue of those sons and daughters who are causing great trouble to their loved ones, to the people around them and harming themselves. It is for us to show them the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. They very much require our prayers, counsel and guidance. Remember, all these things are possible and achievable only by our thankful prayers to God the Holy Father, in the precious and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
