Citizenship is in Heaven

Our citizenship is in heaven.

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Blessed brothers and sisters in Christ, warm wishes in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord Jesus.

The above subject verse (Philippians 3:20) is a bold statement that every believer should be able to make and live. Every righteous child of God, has this hope of eternity with Him. Truly beloved, we are not of this world. We all are sojourning in our respective places or countries. Our real citizenship is in Heaven, the Holy Kingdom of the Lord, our God. As the Psalmist said, our life on this earth is only handbreadths. Therefore, it is easy to conclude from the subject verse, that our life on earth is nothing, compared to the one that we are going to live after death. And no one is immune to death.

You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.

Psalm 39:5 NIV

Waiting for the Lord

In the first place, our life on this earth is not to live aimlessly. But to wait and live according to the will of the Heavenly Father. For it is in the will of the God, that we all be saved from the eternal condemnation. Therefore, our Lord Jesus came down into this world and died for the sins of the mankind. He endured the pain and torture of Cross for our sake. Very importantly, Jesus died and was resurrected on the third day by God, the Holy Father. And Jesus is now in the Heaven seated to the right hand of the throne of God.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2 ESV

Return of Jesus

Finally brethren, it is the second coming of Jesus that every child of God waits for. Even more, the upright and the doers of the will of the Heavenly Father strongly live in this hope. Therefore, let us also live with this hope to be in Heaven as its citizens. All in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
