Honor God in your Youth
Honor God in your youth.
‘Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” ‘
All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name!
The subject verse is from the Old Testament book of wisdom literature called Ecclesiastes. The said verse brings before us the subject of doing for the Lord our God. However, the scripture does not mean that God is very much dependent upon us. But it surely brings forth what we ought to do for His glory. Even before going as per the subject verse, we ought to draw our attention to what is said in the following verses before:
‘Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.’
Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 NLT
Must give an account to God
As the above verse says, we are to give an account of our life to God. Most importantly, need to give an account of that part of our youth. Being young is surely wonderful and meant to be enjoyed every minute of it. But that prime time of our lives are also meant for glorifying God. For it is our duty to give our best to the Lord our God. As God is the only source who gives us the strength and health; we are to glorify Him by serving Him in that youthful vigor. As the subject verse says, let the youth not forget the Creator. Unquestionably, honor the Almighty God in your youth and not wait till you have grown old. Very importantly honor Him, just as you love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength as in the following verse.
‘And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’
Mark 12:30 NLT
Brethren, if you are young or are still in your youthful age; give the best to the Lord. And those you have missed giving or have crossed their youthful age shall not hold back giving their best. As they say, “better late than never.” Therefore, honor the Lord by fully submitting to Him and doing the will of the Heavenly Father. In Jesus’ matchless and mighty name be blessed. Amen.
