Humble will be Exalted
Those who humble themselves will be exalted.
For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, wish you peace and harmony in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
The Bible makes it plain what God does to prideful. We often hear that, “a man’s pride will bring him low, and before honour is humility“. Often we see cases on television or in the print media were the pride taking on pride. How people work for each other’s downfall out of jealousy and pride are wide open. In the same way, cases of sabotage and destruction are the culmination of pride and ego. For sure, it is part of satan’s strategy to destroy our lives by inducing and contaminating our minds. More importantly, with inflated egos and self esteem, we can never have a good relationship with the Almighty.
As God’s children we need to guard ourselves in this trap of pride or inflated self esteem. Pride is something which hits us in split-seconds time and even we may not know about it. Certainly we become aware of what had happened with us only later. We become victim of our own words and vain thinking. Instead of self-exaltation, we rather need to humble before God and also before men. Rather than seeking honour from men, humbly submit to God without bothering about honour. It is God who exalts us in His time. As the Scripture says according to Philippians 2:3:
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.
Jesus’ way.
Therefore brethren, let us exalt God first and in the same humility value others above ourselves. Quite often it is seen that downfall precedes arrogance whereas humility comes before honour and wisdom. In other words, it is only the humility which puts us in the path of our Lord. Let us strive to put humility in the forefront of our lives and honour God in Jesus name. Amen.
