Tree Planted by the Water

Those blessed in the Lord will be like a tree planted by the water.

They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:8 NIV

Glory, praises and honor be to the Almighty God in the precious name of Lord Jesus Christ!

Beloved brethren, exalt the holy name of our Lord Jesus Christ for all his marvellous deeds among his people. The subject verse describes the blessed people of the Lord in an interesting manner. Like the trees planted alongside the streams of water are the blessed people of the Lord. Moreover, not simply planted alongside, but whose roots are by the streams. The most significant feature of any of those trees are the bright lush green leaves. Although not green, certainly blessed people of the Lord are always bright and cheerful.

As a tree along the streams neither fears the heat nor drought, the same can be related to the life of a believer. Truly, neither circumstances nor problems can deter a beloved child of God. For his trust in the Almighty God would always be greater than the problems. Yes, his strength not lies in himself but in the Omnipotent God who is greater than every problem. As the belows verse says, the Lord supplies all the needs of his children who are rooted in him.

‘And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.’

Philippians 4:19

Therefore brethren, let us put all our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to grow in him. Let us grow our roots deeper in Him so that no hurdle or problem could have any say over our lives.

In Jesus’ matchless and mighty name submit and surrender to the Almighty God. Amen.
