Brothers and sisters in Lord Jesus Christ, warm greetings and wishes to you!

Many thinkers, philosophers, scientists believe that we have thoughts by the act of thinking. Thoughts are the psychological associations and information manipulation that we do at all the times. Most importantly, many will agree that our actions and words are directly related to the things that are in our minds. Likewise, we bring out those things that are alive and kicking in our minds.

We can indeed say that sin first germinates in our thoughts. Yes, before a sin is committed, it is conceived in our mind first. Similarly it is referred in the Bible as in the heart i.e., it is conceived in our hearts. Look at what Jesus said in Mark 7:20‭-‬23 ESV:

And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

Oh what a long list! All these comes out of the heart of man. How easily one can be vulnerable to sin and get defiled? We by our own strength and power can never overpower these things. The only way we could do that is by having God on our side. And how to do that? Through Jesus alone. As Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6 ESV). Therefore brethren, believe in Jesus, wash your sins by the blood He shed upon the cross. Above all submit to the will of the Heavenly Father and walk in His righteousness.

Finally brothers and sisters, let us try to lead the Christian life as mentioned in the above verse Philippians 4:8. Let us continue to think about what is good, worthy of praise, true, honorable, right, pure, beautiful and respected. In Jesus matchless name give thanks to the living God. Amen.
