All the honor and majesty be to God the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name !

The subject verse from the Epistle of John is a very important chapter. For the reason that it is the Lord’s prayer, we should also meditate and learn to follow our Lord. Indeed it sheds light on the Lord’s prayer in respect of his disciples and also for those who are to become his believers. The first part of the verse — “make them holy by your truth” conveys what it requires to do God’s work. The most important part of becoming holy is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Yes, we are to be cleansed from our sins and become more in the likeness of our Lord. As the following verse says, we are washed from our own sins by the blood of Lord Jesus Christ.

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Revelation 1:5 KJV

In the likeness of God

And the other part is to become like Him by setting our priorities and desires in the Lord. Rather than giving way to the worldly lusts, we are to strengthen our spirit by uniting with the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ. Certainly, knowing God is knowing the truth. As it is said, truth is the representation of things as they are. If we clearly see and seek the truth, it is our Lord who is visible in all. And the second part of the verse confirms to the above truth — Jesus is the Word of God and Jesus is the Truth.

Although our God is at our reach, we give way to the lies of the devil when we shift our focus from God. Our enemy the liar is always at work to distort the truth. Brethren, we by our own strength can never defeat the devil, but by teaming with our Savior and Comforter we shall always be victorious in our daily life.

Finally, lets us be holy by His truth. In Jesus’ matchless and mighty name we are victorious. Amen.
