My Only Aim

My only aim is to finish the race.

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Acts 20:24 NIV.

Praises to the living God!
Dear brothers and sisters, greeting in the priceless name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The said verse according to Acts 20:24 is about Apostle Paul, talking to members of a church in Ephesus. It is obvious from the verse that Paul did not care about his life. He sole aim seems to finish the race that is set for him. Paul considers his life as a race. And he wants to be a winner and nothing less than that. And he is very much confident of his potential and also very much sure to be counted amongst the winners of the eternal life.

The whole thing is not just about an individual’s life, but about a task that needs to be done successfully. The task is to testify to the good news of God’s grace. So brethren where do we stand in our respective races. Are we in the race or gone off track or completely abandoned it? Remember, this is not only about our lives but also about our individual tasks that needs to be accomplished by everybody. Let us also tell our fellow brothers and sisters the good news as the Bible says in Mark 16:15 (NIV):

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Finally, let us also run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1 NIV). May the presence and strength of our Lord Jesus be with us all throughout of our lives. All the praises and blessings to His matchless name. Amen.
