To Be Angry
Praises and honor be to the Everlasting Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name !
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, greetings to you all. The subject verse from the Book of Jonah is another word of God that propels us to introspect our anger. There is no doubt, every person would have experienced this emotional state with varying intensities. Most of the people consider it as something normal, while some quote it as a healthy human emotion. As we consider the protagonist in this Book, we see him becoming angry with God. What? Could anybody get angry with God and make a case against him ?
The prophet Jonah became angry seeing God’s compassion over the people of Nineveh. Jonah despised the Ninevites so much that he asked God to take his life. Beloved, is our attitude the same ? Do we get angry over God for things over which we do not have any control ? As the verse says, is it right for us to get angry? Our Lord Jesus said to love our enemies and pray for the very people who persecute us.
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!
Matthew 5:44 NLT
Do not let anger control you
Brethren, as the children of the Almighty God, we are not to let anger control us. Rather, we are to show God’s love to all. Yes, it is difficult to practice what is said, but it is possible. When we allow our Lord to rule our hearts and minds, we certainly can. Therefore, let us set Jesus Christ before us in all situations and move ahead in our lives. Moreover, we should ensure that our anger does not spill over to the next day as the following verse says.
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,
Ephesians 4:26 NLT
In Jesus’ matchless name, stay happy and blessed. Amen.
