Blessed be the name of the Almighty God !

The subject verse from the Gospel according to Luke speaks about love for the enemies. The verse in Jesus words, explicitly calls for loving the enemies. Moreover, the other part of the verse calls for praying for those very people who are abusive towards us. In this world, we see ourselves loving those who loves us and hating those who hates us. One could argue that, it is the nature of the mankind to behave in such a manner of reciprocity. But the true love of God sees this in a different perspective.

Love like Jesus

God loves the mankind He created. His love is impartial and unconditional. Unconditional love means that none of our works can increase or decrease God’s love for us. And our Lord Jesus demonstrated both the qualities in His earthly life. Even though He being the Son of God, He never considered unworthy to love the sinful man. He hated the sin, but not the man. He showed love to the very people who were putting Him to cross. Moreover, He prayed for their forgiveness even while going through the torture and pain of the cross. Therefore brethren, where do we stand in this world ? Is the same love of the Almighty there in us ?

‘Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.’

Romans 13:14

As the children of the Living God, we are to love the God first and love others like ourselves. More so, we are to love our enemies and do good to those who hate us. And we could do this by doing as the above verse says — clothe ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ. Let our hearts and minds be changed like our Lord. In fact let us imitate Christ in loving others. Thereby bringing glory to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

PS: God loved the mankind so much that He offered His Son, Jesus as the Sacrificial Lamb. And whosoever believes the Son of God, shall have the eternal life. Jesus out of His love for the Holy Father and for the mankind, took all our sins upon Himself. He died on the cross, was buried and rose again on the third day. Even more, He stayed on the earth for forty days and ascended to Heaven thereafter. And He is now coming back again. This time, He comes to judge the world.
