Faith without Deeds

Faith without deeds is dead.

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Blessed be the name of the Almighty God in Jesus’ precious name !

The subject verse from the Book of James brings before us the truth about faith. It is very clear in saying that our faith without works is dead. Very truly, our faith alone shall not justify our lives. Though a faithful person who is sick and bedridden may be an exception.

Every person who is faithful to the Living God shall not restrict himself in doing good. Indeed, our faith cannot be genuine if we have no works to complement with. Any person who considers himself as faithful, but acts superficial is as good as dead. Moreover, can the faith of such a person ever save him ? As the Bible says, is it not foolishness to believe that faith alone is sufficient ?

It is reiterated that a body without spirit is dead. Likewise, faith without deeds are dead. For a genuine faith naturally brings out good works from all. As we now how Abraham had full faith in God and willed to lay his son on the altar of sacrifice. And this act of Abraham was counted as righteousness. Further, his actions made his faith complete.

Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.

James 2:21‭-‬22 NLT

Therefore brethren, let us do what is good in the sight of the Almighty God, Keeping our faith on Him who is our Lord and God. In Jesus’s precious and matchless name we shall do the good. Amen.
