Forget Not All His Benefits

Bless the Lord , O my soul, And forget not all His benefits.

Blessed be the name of the Almighty God in Jesus Christ’s precious name !

The psalmist wonderfully puts forth his word of praise for the Lord in the subject verses. In fact it seemed unique to me when I first came through this kind of verses in the Bible. It intrigued me how a finite being like us have the audacity to bless the infinite Almighty God. But could now understand the said way of praising the Omnipotent God. As I understood from the psalmist, the word ‘bless’ means to praise the Lord from the depths of our heart, full of love and deep affection and overflowing with gratitude.

As the verse says, we shall bless the Lord with the whole of our hearts and minds. Also, we shall remind ourselves all the things that the Almighty God has done in our lives and continue to glorify His mighty name. Moreover, we are to bless Him for all the things that He is currently doing and what He is going to do further. For the Lord Almighty forgives all our sins, iniquities, transgressions and all the abominations when we repent and seek to be washed with His shed blood.

Therefore brethren, let us not forget all the deeds of the Almighty, but continually glorify Him by living a righteous, holy life in the will of the Heavenly Father. Remember, we cannot do all this by our own strength, but by the strength that comes in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
