Day: 16 December 2018

Do not imitate evil

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil.

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.

III John 1:11

Dear brothers and sisters, praise the Lord!

I think everyone is pretty sure that this world is now controlled by the father of lies, the wicked Satan. This is not my own assessment, but the scriptures says so. Yes, according to 1 John 5:19, the whole world is under the control of the evil one. The Bible says not to imitate evil, but do what is good. Certainly, the world will not allow us to do good. But with the presence of God, everything is done according to His plans.

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

1 John 5:19

Imitate Jesus Christ

Truly, it is bad not to do good when we get the opportunity to do so. It is even worse if we do not allow others to do good when they are in the process. As the children of God, it is very much difficult to pull on with our own strength. But the living God is always with us when we step out to do good. And nobody can stop us doing what are right in the sight of God. I believe it could be the will of God that we are put at a particular place and at a particular time so as to do good and the will of the Heavenly Father. On the whole to be used for the work of God. Unlike, who knew not God, we will not repay evil with evil, but repay evil with blessing. As the below verse says:

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

1 Peter 3:9

Therefore brethren, let us be imitators of Christ in every way. Let all our works and deeds bring glory to the Almighty God. Furthermore, let us imitate what is good and do good so as to be of God in Jesus’ matchless name. Amen.
