Comfort and Joy
God give’s us comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
… I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Warm wishes and greetings in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
The subject verse (Jeremiah 31:13) is a great relief to all those who are mourning or in difficult situations and desperately in need of help. The Lord says that He will turn their mourning into gladness. Moreover, the Living God likes to give them His comfort and joy instead of sorrow. What a wonderful God we have and how great is His love? The Bible shows us the great love and compassion of our Lord Jesus. The sight of a widow with a dead son, moved Jesus’ heart so much that he went out and consoled her. Then He raised the child from death and gave him back to his mother.
13. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”
14. Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”
15. The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
Luke 7:13-15 NIV
The Lord comforts his people
Surely, the divine presence of our Lord is what we need the most in our lives. Those who have Him in them will always rejoice in all circumstances. For the grace and mercy of the Lord enables them to overcome all sorrow and grief. Moreover, the Bible says that the Lord comforts His children like how a mother comforts her child. Certainly, He is the source of our strength. As the following below verse says, shout for joy and rejoice, for the Lord comforts His people.
Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
Isaiah 49:13 NIV
Therefore brethren, always rejoice in the Lord. Cast all your cares upon Him. Submit to the will of the Heavenly Father and give all the glory to His mighty name. In Jesus’ precious name have victory over all things. Amen.
