Faithful in little
One who is faithful in a very little is also loyal in much.
One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
Blessed brothers and sisters in Christ, warm wishes and greetings!
The subject verse (Luke 16:10) is part of the parable of the unjust steward which Jesus told. The Lord spoke about the inherent behaviour of both the unjust and the just. Jesus laid bare the ingrained qualities of the steadfast and the dishonest people.
If a person is devoted and loyal towards towards God, he will always be entrusted more. As the verse says, our loyalty towards the little things, can also pave way for the entrust of true riches. If a person is not trustworthy in handling worldly wealth then how can he ever be trusted with greater things. The Lord sharply put it across the people listening to him. The hearts of the evil could never tolerate what Lord Jesus told. The scriptures say that the stubborn and rebellious people will never be loyal. Moreover their spirits would not be faithful to Him.
They would not be like their ancestors— a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.
Psalm 78:8 NIV
Therefore beloved, let us turn away from dishonest living. Let us show ourselves blameless by being faithful to the God most high. And therefore, let us also seek the Almighty God to guard our lives and save us from the eternal condemnation as the following verse says.
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you. You are my God;
Psalm 86:2 NIV
In Jesus matchless and mighty name, let us fight the good fight of faith. Amen.
