Blessed brothers and sisters in Christ, greetings and warm wishes!

The subject verse (Colossians 2:3) encourages us to know more intimately about the Lord, our God Jesus Christ. For our Lord is the embodiment and the essence of the Living God. Therefore, in Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge which are special and incomprehensible to the layman.

In the verse prior to the subject verse, Apostle Paul encourages us to have the full riches of complete understanding. Surely, the complete understanding what Paul refers here are far greater than the riches of the world. For this understanding results in a true and more intimate knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Jesus Christ. Although Jesus, our Messiah taught many things, not all could understand the things He revealed. Consequently, He once said, how could people understand the heavenly things when they could not comprehend even the earthly things.

12. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13. No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.

John 3:12-13

Whom the Son chooses to reveal

From the above verse, it is clear that in Jesus, the only begotten Son of God are the full treasures of the heaven. The treasures are not understood by everyone. We by our own understanding can never know the Son of God. As the following verse say, no one knows the Son except the Heavenly Father. And no one knows the Heavenly Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal.

All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Matthew 11:27

Therefore brethren, let us live our lives fully rooted and built up in our Lord Jesus Christ. Furthermore, always be thankful to the Living God and seek Him to strengthen our faith with each passing moment of time. Let us be fervent in our prayers and in longing to know the Son of God and also all those hidden treasures. In Jesus matchless name. Amen.
