Day: 16 October 2020

Like an Eagle

Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young.

like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft.

Deuteronomy 32:11 NIV

All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in Jesus’ precious name!

The subject verse brings before us God’s loving care, guidance and absolute protection through the metaphor of an eagle. Just like an eagle that rouses her chicks, the Israelites were stirred to come out of Egypt. When the time has come to end their oppression and helplessness in Egypt, God roused them to leave the land. The Living God reminds what He did to the Egyptians through the following verse, And how He carried the Israelites on eagles’ wings and brought them to Himself.

‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.

Exodus 19:4 NLT

The Omnipotent God’s presence remained over the Israelites, just like how an eagle hovers over her young. The wilderness experience of the Israelites could be put as a teaching from the Lord. For the journey which could have been completed in forty days, was stretched to forty years because of their rebellion, distrust and finally for their unwillingness to take the promised land. Even then He spread his wings to take them up and carried them safely like how an eagle carries on its pinions.

Brethren, we could never count all the good things that the Almighty God has done in our lives. But we could always be thankful by our continued praises and worship of the Lord. Let us glorify His Mighty Name for carrying us all these days till now and be thankful for His continued protection. He is more than the eagle that protects its chicks. He is the Omnipotent, Omniscient and the Omnipresent God, whom we call “Abba Father”.

In Jesus’ mighty and matchless name be blessed and protected. Amen.
